When my kids were young they were extremely excitable. So when a big event was approaching, birthdays or Christmas, they would countdown how many times they had to sleep until the event. I feel a little like that. Only three more sleeps until I, and eleven others from Westheights, head to Nicaragua.
I am definitely getting excited about heading back to the country of Nicaragua. Hardly a week goes by when I don’t think about the experience from last year. It was truly life-changing for me. I hope that I can be a good leader and help as many other people as possible have the same kind of eye opening experience that I was blessed to have last year and will have once again in three days’ time. There is so much to take in while you are there and a lot of hard work to do as well. But most of all, it is truly moving to see Christian brothers and sisters who survive in extremely difficult life circumstances but still trust God and follow him in obedience.
I hope that you will pray for us as we travel to Nicaragua. Our schedule is below and you can pray specifically for us during our flight times and travel though some very busy airports. I hope that you will read through and pray through the amazing devotional journal Karen Mansfield created for our church. There are copies in your mail file and extras in the sanctuary. Of course, all of the daily entries will appear online here at the blog.
