Can kids be servants of God and ministers of the Good News? You bet they can! Our children, students and leaders have another opportunity to live the Good News with our next-door neighbours at Forest Heights Long Term Care Centre. We’re excited to have been invited back to lead an 8th Sunday service!

We count this a unique and rare opportunity—a demonstration that neither age nor illness bars us as Christ-followers from being co-worshippers, as well as worship leaders, teachers, pastors, and encouragers, as we use our gifts to inspire each other and give glory to God.

The students and children plan to serve this community of seniors (and others who are in need of long term care) as they:

  • bless and encourage the residents
  • lead in worship
  • read scripture
  • tell Bible stories or share stories of faith
  • use creative performance to inspire worship moments
  • teach and/or share mini-sermons

Click here today to let us know that your child/student (SK through Grade 12) is able to attend the service at Forest Heights on Sunday, April 26, from 10:20 to 11:30, and (especially) to sign up for special roles.

On the day of, we will meet at 9:30 in the Great Room to rehearse the order of the service before we walk to the centre. Parents of children in SK-Grade 5 may pick up their children at the usual dismissal time of 11:45.

Involvement in certain parts of the service may require rehearsal at home, and/or extra rehearsals, which will take place on Sundays at noon in February, March and April. Stay tuned for a schedule of who’s rehearsing, and when…!
