In Canada we value competition and winning and know what it means to work hard and use elbow grease. We tell people you get what you deserve in life. However, God does not work by means of the Canadian work ethic; He has a different way. The way He operates is so different from what we normally get in life that it’s actually hard to understand and difficult to accept.

G.OD’S FREE GIFT
Romans 3:24 Yet God, in his grace, freely makes us right in his sight. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins.
R.ECEIVED BY REDEEMING FAITH
Ephesians 2:8-9 God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it.
Romans 4:16a So the promise is received by faith. It is given as a free gift…
A.VAILABLE TO ALL
Romans 4:16b … And we are all certain to receive it, whether or not we live according to the law of Moses, if we have faith like Abraham’s. For Abraham is the father of all who believe.
Romans 10:13 For “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
C.OMES THROUGH CHRIST
John 1:17 For the law was given through Moses, but God’s unfailing love and faithfulness came through Jesus Christ.
Romans 5:15b But even greater is God’s wonderful grace and his gift of forgiveness to many through this other man, Jesus Christ
Galatians 2:21 I do not treat the grace of God as meaningless. For if keeping the law could make us right with God, then there was no need for Christ to die.
E.XTENDED THROUGHOUT ETERNITY
Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.
Isaiah 30:18 So the Lord must wait for you to come to him so he can show you his love and compassion.
