As I began a new sermon series on the Beatitudes this past Sunday I suggested that Jesus was most happy. In his study on the Beatitudes Billy Graham has written, “If by happiness we mean serenity, confidence, contentment, peace, joy and soul-satisfaction, then Jesus was supremely ‘happy.’ (more…)
New Sermon Series

This Sunday I am going to start a new sermon series from the Sermon on the Mount. I am going to focus on the Beatitudes, Matthew 5:1-12, for the next eight weeks. The series will be called Life Apps … Application is Everything. I believe in these verses that Jesus is teaching us how to live as citizens of his kingdom. It is an application-based sermon long before the term ever existed. (more…)
