In the last message of his sermon series on Following Jesus, Todd’s message was entitled We Are Members. “To be a follower of Christ, we are to be a member of His family and a member of His body. Following Jesus is far more than just believing. It’s not enough to just believe in Jesus. The Bible says we’re not just believers, we’re belongers. And once we belong, then we become.” (more…)

Todd’s second message in his “Following Jesus” series was on our role as ambassadors. “When the Bible says we are ambassadors for Christ, isn’t it sad that some Christians have betrayed the King and His kingdom. They have concluded foolishly that this life here on earth is their home. It’s not! The Bible is clear that the world is not your home, so don’t get too cozy in it.” (more…)

This morning service was special for different reasons. First, we remembered and prayed about the loss of life that happened 10 years ago on 911. Then toward the end of the service, we remembered and celebrated Todd Lester’s 10 years of ministry at Westheights Community Church.
Todd’s message was the first in a new series entitled “What Does It Mean To Follow Jesus?”, beginning with a call to be disciples. (more…)

Core Values: Week 4

So this week’s Core Value was about following Jesus. This one says “We value wholehearted obedience to Christ Jesus through the empowering presence of the Holy Spirit.” I think that this is one of those subjects which seems really basic, and then blows up in our face really quick. (more…)
