Empty Bowls for Haiti
0Local potters donate the bowls. Chefs and other organizations donate the soup. You donate $25.00 and share the wonderful meal with us and take the beautiful bowl home – and all the proceeds are donated to MCC’s sustainable development work in Haiti. Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes
0On Sunday, October 17, Westheights Church kicked off our Operation Christmas Child (OCC) shoebox campaign. 110 plastic and cardboard shoeboxes were provided to the congregation, and we were thrilled to see them all disappear. Fill these boxes with a balance of much-needed practical items as well as toys and other gifts, and they will be shipped to the children of Haiti. (more…)
Collect Shoeboxes
2As we prepare for Operation Christmas Child, we need to begin collecting shoeboxes. In your travels, please make an effort to ask retail stores or friends or family for their empty shoeboxes and bring them back to Westheights Church.
Haiti … why God?
0As a pastor the most common question people ask me goes like this: “If there is a God, and if that God loves people as you say he does, then why do tragedies happen in our world?” I understand the question. I really do. I have lived through enough difficult experiences to fully empathize with that question and to have asked it myself on occasion. (more…)
