Halloween for Hunger is just around the corner. This is an amazing event in which Westheights gets a chance to connect with the people in our community, collect food for the Food Bank of Waterloo Region and have a great time all at once! In order for the event to run, however, we need to borrow as many wagons as we can.
In the past we have used wheelbarrows as well, but have gotten feedback that wheelbarrows tend to tip so wagons are the way to go. We will only need to use the wagon on the night of Sunday, October 31st, 2010. If it is possible to drop off and pick up your wagon it would be ideal, but we will certainly arrange to have it picked up and dropped off. Please contact Gillian Fenske by phone (519.741.1986 ext.805) or email if you are able to help us out.
As well, we will be collecting food before H4H so bring non-perishable food items with you at any time. We are also looking for volunteers the night of the 31st – help sort food, pick up bags from collection teams, or join a collection team yourself!
Brilliant! That’s a great idea 🙂 Thanks!
hey there Gillian
when Heather was in youth ministry they would borrow 3-4 carts from the local grocery store…
they worked great… might be worth asking at the super store
