Have you or your kids ever wondered what it would feel like to be part of a parade? Well, here’s your opportunity!
Roger B, brother of Doug B and indispensable aide during our annual family carnival, has asked the Westheights Church congregation for our help. Roger’s church, Bethany Evangelical Missionary Church, has a float at the K-W Santa Claus parade this Saturday. This float promotes their annual Christmas Pageant, so you’ll be costumed accordingly. They are desperately short on volunteers to walk alongside or sit on their float, because their own youth and others are away at a retreat. They need 30-40 more people to reach their required 70-80 total, They need our help! Following are the details:
Date: Saturday, November 20, 2010
Starting Point: Bethany Evangelical Missionary Church (160 Lancaster Street E., Kitchener)
Starting Time: Be at Bethany by 8:00 am, to be fitted with a costume
Time Commitment: 8:00 am – 1:00 pm
Details: You will be driven down to the parade start and be on the float (or walking beside it) and will arrive with the float back at the Church by 12:00 noon. Bethany Church will then provide a meal for everyone, at 12:00 – 1:00pm. This is for all ages. Dress for the weather.
RSVP to Roger by emailing him. Click here to email him with number of participants and ages, so they will have appropriate-sized costumes for your family. Tell him you’re from Westheights Church, too.

Hi Maggie,
Yes, all adult kids are welcome! 🙂
If you could send me your e-mail address, I can fill you in on the details.
Thanks,

Our family is going, too. I hope we’ll have the occasional turn where we get to sit on the float, also, otherwise we’ll be stopping at every Tim Horton’s on the way for a coffee break.
Our family will be going… I asked for a “sit on the float” part… 🙂
