The Bible has the supernatural power to change lives because it is the Word of God. The reason the Bible can change lives is because it’s not just words in print, not just human ideas, not just pop psychology … it’s the words of God. In this second message of our IMMERSE 40-day Spiritual Adventure, Pastor Todd describes just a few of the benefits that the Bible can bring to our lives.

THE BENEFITS OF THE BIBLE

Psalm 33:6 The LORD merely spoke, and the heavens were created. He breathed the word, and all the stars were born.

John 6:63 And the very words I have spoken to you are spirit and life.

Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.

WHAT BENEFITS DOES THE BIBLE BRING TO MY LIFE?

1. IT REGENERATES

James 1:18 He chose to give birth to us by giving us his true word. And we, out of all creation, became his prized possession.

2 Timothy 3:15 You have been taught the holy Scriptures from childhood, and they have given you the wisdom to receive the salvation that comes by trusting in Christ Jesus.

James 1:21 Humbly accept the word God has planted in your hearts, for it has the power to save your souls.

1 Peter 1:23 For you have been born again, but not to a life that will quickly end. Your new life will last forever because it comes from the eternal, living word of God.

2. IT ERADICATES

1 John 1:9 But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.

Romans 8:1 So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus.

Ephesians 5:25-26 Christ loved the church. He gave up his life for her to make her holy and clean, washed by the cleansing of God’s word.

John 15:3 You have already been pruned and purified by the message I have given you.

3. IT STIMULATES

Acts 20:32 And now I entrust you to God and the message of his grace that is able to build you up and give you an inheritance with all those he has set apart for himself.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NIV) All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

4. IT ILLUMINATES

Psalm 119:130 The teaching of your word gives light, so even the simple can understand.

Psalm 119:105 Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path.

Psalm 119:18 Open my eyes to see the wonderful truths in your instructions.

5. IT ELEVATES

Romans 15:4 Such things were written in the Scriptures long ago to teach us. And the Scriptures give us hope and encouragement as we wait patiently for God’s promises to be fulfilled.

Psalm 119:114 You are my refuge and my shield; your word is my source of hope.

6. IT LIBERATES

John 8:31-32 Jesus said to the people who believed in Him, “You are truly my disciples if you remain faithful to my teachings. And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

7. IT ACTIVATES

Romans 10:17 (NKJV) So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Mark 12:24 Jesus replied, “Your mistake is that you don’t know the Scriptures, and you don’t know the power of God.
