Read Psalm 13

Take note of the last two verses. David is expressing frustration and struggling with why God is not acting, yet he writes that he will trust God anyway.

Let’s try putting some rough notes together for our personal Psalm and then tomorrow we will finish it off. First the section on thankfulness. Here are some suggestions where you can “rough in” some ideas:

  • I will sing to the Lord, for He has…
  • Give thanks to the Lord, for He rescued me when…

Now the section on concern. Here are some suggestions to get you started:

  • Why have You not answered my prayer for…
  • Every day I call to You but…

And now for the last section, when we remember what we are thankful for, and despite our concerns and frustrations, we choose to trust in God. Here are some suggestions (or if you have difficulty, feel free to quote the end of Psalm 13 or put it in your own words):

  • But I know the Lord is always with me…
  • You will not abandon me…
  • But I will praise You for I know…
  • Yet I am confident I will see the Lord’s goodness…
