Thanks to almost 100 Westheights volunteers and our generous neighbours, the grand total of food collected came to … drum roll, please … 2,383 pounds plus cash donations, adding up to the equivalent of 2,423 pounds!
We collected so much food that we had to distribute the packed boxes of food in two separate areas of our office portable, to ensure we didn’t tip our portable over! (Thanks to Paul Slater for this wise suggestion!)
The Food Bank of Waterloo Region expressed great appreciation at the generosity of Westheights Church and our neighbours.
We saw so many happy faces last Friday, and wonderfully fun costumes! Here is a smattering of photos to memorialize the evening.
