The end-of-the-school-year busyness is upon us! Recitals, track-and-field, finals, picnics and field trips galore…Along with the giddiness of anticipation as we count down the days to SUMMER! (Okay, the kids are giddy…Some of us are bracing ourselves…)
It’s also the time of year when parents often reflect on how much we appreciate the giving and gifted people who’ve taught, led, encouraged and coached our precious kids throughout the year.
I want to take a moment to thank all of our amazing Westheights Kids volunteers–and I hope you can too! In fact, we want to invite you, parents and grandparents of Preschool-Grade 5 kids, to connect with your child’s On Your Mark! Small Group leaders during the month of June.
Grab a Visitors’ badge at the Hub before or after On Your Mark!, and we’ll make sure you find the right spot to touch base with your child’s leaders. You may need to come multiple times to meet your child’s Teaching Leaders–most have 2–or you may want to come each Sunday in June to also meet his or her Assisting Leaders. All of these dedicated volunteers look for special ways to love on and influence your child each Sunday. If you like face-to-face interaction when it comes to exchanging insights and encouragement, here’s your chance!
It’s time to partner up again (on the home and church fronts) and strengthen each other as leaders who are passionate about these kids.
And hey, Westheights Kids volunteers (Infant Care to Grade 5): If there was a way that you could grasp how much your commitment to, and creativity for sharing God’s Big Story has impacted the next generation, well, that would be my wish for you.
