An Update by Melanie Wigg: We’ve had another great day here in Nicaragua. We are working hard, and it is great to see the progress that is being made. Lots of dirt has been dug and moved by wheelbarrow as an area is cleared for future dormitories. It is rewarding to see how different the area looks now compared to Monday morning.
Today was the fourth and final day of our kids program. In every church the kids have been so engaged. We trust that the simple lessons we’ve brought will plant seeds that will bear fruit in the years to come. Our lesson has centered on the story of Zacchaeus. Christina has been a very engaging Zacchaeus as she tells the story from his point of view! Through story, songs, crafts, and games we emphasized three main points with the kids: Jesus cares for me, Jesus wants to talk with me, and Jesus changes my life.
Personally, it has been very fun to be back here (it’s my 5th trip here) and to reconnect with familiar faces and friends. It is also amazing to see the newly constructed National Ministry Centre. Just six years ago we were shown this piece of land and told of the dream to build a center here. Now we get to be here to see it completed.
It’s a blessing and an honour to be a part of what God is doing here in this beautiful country.
