Dear Westheights Family, I want to begin by thanking you for the many ways you have made Michelle, Silas, Isaac and me feel at home in our first few weeks here at Westheights. This is certainly a special community and we look forward to getting to know each of you.
On Sunday November 25, Westheights Church will celebrate 40 years of ministry. I am grateful for the vision and labour of those who have led our church community over the years.
An anniversary is an opportunity to reflect and to celebrate how we have witnessed God at work. As I get to know this church family, I am hearing stories of lives that have been changed throughout the years at Westheights. My heart is warmed as I hear students and children tell me how amazing their program leaders are and as I witness the care and support that is present in our house churches. For all this we give praise!
An anniversary is also an invitation to anticipate what is yet to come. In fact I am reminded of what God says through the prophet Isaiah when he says that God is about doing new things (Isaiah 43:19). Indeed, I believe that God has big dreams for our church family – dreams that including new stories of lives changed by Jesus and our church having a positive Kingdom impact in our neighbourhood.
As we celebrate 40 years of ministry, I want to invite you to partner with us in two ways. First, would you commit to praying into what is yet to come for Westheights as we anticipate what God wants to do through us for the sake of the Kingdom. Second, if you are able, our anniversary offering is an opportunity to give a special offering that will be used to pursue our purpose and mission.
We will be celebrating our anniversary on Sunday November 25. I hope that you will join us to celebrate God’s goodness as well as to anticipate what is yet to come.
Yours in Christ,
Josh Mutter, Lead Pastor
