We always look forward to our annual corn roast as it represents the start of a new season – new school year, new routines and, more importantly, new relationships. Last weekend’s corn roast had a great turnout of around 140 people with many new friendships formed and even more calories consumed (can we say crock-pot full of melted butter?). As Pastor Josh said a couple of Sundays ago, “Come for the butter, stay for the relationships.”
Thanks to the many, many people who helped make this amazing event happen:
- Planners and organizers
- Hosts
- BBQ deliverer
- Silent auction organizers
- BBQ chef
- Corn huskers
- Cleaner-uppers
As well, thanks to the creative people who donated baked goods for our silent auction fundraiser, and then the people who made such generous bids on the baked goods! One individual successfully bid $60 for a delectable pie! Because of your generosity, $701.50 was donated to Camp Kahquah.
Thanks for the memories!
