Dear Westheights Family,
On Sunday November 28, we will celebrate 43 years of ministry together. Although 2021 has not been a typical ministry year, I have been grateful for the ways in which our church family has continued to express our vision: “To be a vibrant community of followers of Jesus that serves our neighbours by meeting needs and showing love.”
Thank you for being committed to meeting together, albeit online, for most of the year.
Thank you for the ways in which you have expressed love for one another. Thank you for the countless phone calls, porch visits, and various expressions of kindness and care. One of my favourite things that we did last spring was to have monthly times of prayer after the Sunday service. These times of prayer were beautiful expressions of what it means to be in relationship with one another.
Thank you for loving our neighbours. In addition to our annual Halloween for Hunger food drive, this year we tried something new, and collected hygiene items for a program at the Forest Heights Community Centre that supports people who live in our neighbourhood.
Whether you have attended Westheights for a few weeks, or many years, I am grateful that you are a part of our amazing church family!
Anniversary Offering Project – Camp Kahquah
In previous years we have asked you to consider giving a special offering to the work of our church, as a part of our anniversary celebrations. This year, the Board would like to encourage us to do something different, and to make a donation to our denominational camp instead. For many of us, Camp Kahquah has a special place in our hearts and functions as an extension of our church. This year we want to encourage the good work of Camp Kahquah.

We will be celebrating our anniversary on Sunday November 28. I hope that you will join us to celebrate God’s goodness as well as to anticipate what is yet to come.
