Heartbeats!

BIG IDEA: Missons is the heartbeat of the body of Christ, the church.
“Now you are the body of Christ and each of you is a part of it.” I Corinthians 12:27 NIV
“He (Jesus) is the head of the body, the church . . .” Colossians 1:18 NIV
“The Son of Man came to seek and save the lost.” Luke 19:10 NIV
“You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria and to the ends of the earth.” Acts 1:8 NIV
1. Our church’s heart beats with mission’s history.
2. Our church’s heart beats with a strong desire for the salvation of the lost.
3. Our church’s heart beats to strengthen churches in other places.
4. Our church’s heart beats with compassion.
Application
Put a stethoscope to your heart and the heart of your church. How is it beating? As you let Jesus be your pacemaker how do you think your heartbeat might change? What is the Holy Spirit prompting you and your church to do in order to carry out the mission that is on His heart? Pray about it. Brainstorm about it. Talk about it together.
