FOLLOWING, TOGETHER
Message by Lisa Goetze – May 5, 2024
Matthew 28:19-20 (NIV) Jesus: “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey everything that I’ve commanded you. Look, I myself will be with you every day until the end of this present age.”
Jesus gives both Worshippers and Doubters the instruction to make disciples.
A disciple is:
- A learner, follower
- A believer who puts faith or belief into action
- An instructor
- A child, an heir, a friend (early Jesus movement)
Visual art as a way to see what God is saying (Visio Divina).
Romans 12:10-18 (NIV) Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves. Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Share with the Lord’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality. Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn. Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited. Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone. If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.
