Looking for a January warm up? Westheights’ 8th annual Chili Cook-off is just around the corner! Come to Westheights Church on Sunday, January 26th from 4:30-6:30pm to be a part of a friendly chili contest – whether as a discerning judge, or as a chef contestant as well!
Contestants bring their favourite chili or creative new invention in a crockpot. The entire community are the judges, tasting the chilis and dishing out their votes using the provided beans. The declared winner will be awarded the coveted golden soon. Last year, our winners were Bruce and Lucy with their Pickle Chili. We’ve seen all kinds of chilis – from traditional to sweet to spicy to fusion – to some having some non-typical chili ingredients that just added to the flavour choices! This is a great social event to connect with each other while moving about the foyer tasting the different delicious chilis!
Additional snacks will be provided.
Whether you’re an old chili pro or an amateur debuting in the ring for the first time – if you’re interested in being a chili cook-off competitor, please fill out this Google form by Thursday January 23rd @12pm.
