Message by Josh Mutter- Nov 16, 2025

Matthew 5:9 (NIV) Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.

Big Idea: Avoiding conflict isn’t peace; bringing God’s life into it is.

Those who belong to the Kingdom will be known by how they bring wholeness and wellbeing into the reality of conflict.

Colossians 1:20 (NLT) … and through him God reconciled everything to himself. He made peace with everything in heaven and on earth by means of Christ’s blood on the cross.

Ephesians 2:14-16 (NLT) For Christ himself has brought peace to us. He united Jews and Gentiles into one people when, in his own body on the cross, he broke down the wall of hostility that separated us… He made peace between Jews and Gentiles by creating in himself one new people from the two groups. Together as one body, Christ reconciled both groups to God by means of his death on the cross, and our hostility toward each other was put to death.

Matthew 5:10 (NIV) Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the Kingdom of heaven.

1 Peter 4:12 (NIV) Dear friends, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal that has come to you… as if something strange were happening to you.

1 Peter 4:15 (NIV) If you suffer, it should not be as a murder or thief or any kind of criminal, or even as a meddler.

We should not be surprised when we face opposition when our lives are pointed towards God and his will.

Closing thoughts:

  1. We can face a conflict we’ve been avoiding.
  2. We can practice reflective listening.
  3. We can bring peace in small, daily moments.
