“At that time Jesus, full of joy through the Holy Spirit, said, ‘I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for this is what you were pleased to do.’” Luke 10:21

READ

Jesus is the greatest thinker who ever lived. He’s smart. Really smart. Jesus has been credited for having the greatest moral teaching in history. He’s credited with story-telling that cuts through culture and history, affecting people for thousands of years to follow. So it may seem a little odd when Jesus says “I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because You have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children.” But this may simply go to show us that Jesus was not one who was arrogant or elitist. He wants people to understand the kingdom of God is for all and available to all. No one is excluded.

The little children He refers to in the passage are people who are new. They are not the most scholarly or the most learned of people. Jesus rejoices that God has revealed His kingdom to everyone, including the new ones.
