So I had a great time last night. Instead of moving onto the next core value we ended up just talking more about this defining point about pursuing peace. As we talked about last week, the core value for pursuing peace keeps a holistic view on things like valuing life. I loved the part where we got into how we, practically, can become involved with ‘non-violent resolution to conflict’ in a practical way. (more…)

Morning everyone. So this week we were talking about pursuing peace. The core value says this, “We value all human life and promote forgiveness, understanding, reconciliation, and non-violent resolution of conflict.” We had a fairly small group this week, so I’m looking forward to other input into this issue. Hello again everyone. So we had a great discussion last night about this core value. It says this, “We value integrity in relationships and mutual accountability in an atmosphere of grace, love, and acceptance.” This is the one called, “belonging to a community of faith.” There was a lot of great stuff that came up during this discussion. Core Values: Week 4

So this week’s Core Value was about following Jesus. This one says “We value wholehearted obedience to Christ Jesus through the empowering presence of the Holy Spirit.” I think that this is one of those subjects which seems really basic, and then blows up in our face really quick. (more…)
Core Values: Week Three

So this week’s core value is about worship. It reads like this. “We value heartfelt worship to God that is God-honoring, Spirit-led, and life-changing.” It’s unfortunate, but the discussion on worship has been dominated by the debate over style as long as I’ve been alive. (more…)
