“Children, obey your parents because you belong to the Lord, for this is the right thing to do. ‘Honor your father and mother.’ This is the first commandment with a promise: If you honor your father and mother, ‘things will go well for you, and you will have a long life on
the earth.’ Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger by the way you treat them. Rather, bring them up with the discipline and instruction that comes from the Lord.”

• Praise God for who He is
• Confess your sinfulness and need for cleansing
• Allow His Spirit to draw you near
• Listen as He speaks to you

• Help parents to put their spouse’s needs ahead of their own
• Help parents to resolve their conflicts instead of going the path of divorce
• Help parents understand how much their children need them
• Help children resist ungodly influences
• Help churches minister to the complex needs of families
• Cause policy makers to pass more family-friendly policies
• Raise up a new generation of leaders to promote strong family values

• Thank God for hearing you
• Trust that God is at work to accomplish His will
