LIFE STORY

On the second day after this assignment to pick a verse for the 40 day Prayer Guide, it was given life. In my profession as a caregiver I come across many people whom I have to give a lot of hope and encouragement and thoughtfulness to.  Just this Monday after I got this assignment to do, I saw this come to life.  I came across a situation where a friend of mine’s brother was found unconscious in his apartment, bleeding internally, and was therefore rushed to the hospital and put on life support.  I had never met my friend’s family before but I felt compelled to go and pray for this family and that the young man, even though he was unconscious, would come to repentance.  I wanted to pray for God’s peace and comfort for this family in this tragic time.

Unfortunately, the patient worsened and the following day, he was taken off life support.  The mother’s worry was that the son was not going to heaven.  She was a woman of faith.  I encouraged her to continue on praying and put her hope in God.  I believe that by talking and praying with her, she was helped and comforted through this time.

Hopefully, in turn, she will therefore pass this on.
