As Lent, and our 40 Day Spiritual Adventure Prayer Guide, comes to conclusion on Easter weekend, it is a wonderful time in the life of the church. After all, Easter is the oldest of all Christian holidays. Jesus did not tell us to remember his birth although Christmas is a great celebration. But he did tell us to remember his death in 1 Corinthians 11:23-25. So Easter is the most important celebration in the Christian calendar.
I hope that you can make it to the Good Friday and Easter Sunday services this weekend. Melanie has planned beautiful services to help us remember these important Christian holidays. Friday will focus on communion and include a few devotional thoughts with lots of beautiful music. The theme for the Easter service will be the power of the resurrection that enables us to change our lives and become better followers of Jesus Christ.
