To make Halloween for Hunger run we need a large number of volunteers. H4H is a great opportunity to get to know people at Westheights, meet our neighbours, and serve the tangible needs of people in our community by collecting non-perishable food for the Food Bank of Waterloo Region!
We need:
- a TON more people to join Food Collection Teams
- 1-2 more drivers (with vehicles) to collect food from the Food Collection Teams
- a handful of food receivers who will hang out at the church, helping to unload cars and box up donated food
Volunteers of all ages are needed for this fun and community-centred event! Sign up as a family, with some friends or on your own!
We are also looking to borrow wagons from families in the church for the Food Collection Teams to use. And don’t forget to bring in some non-perishable food yourself! Last year we collected 2,226 pounds from the neighbourhood, and we’re hoping to top that this year!
Halloween for Hunger will take place on Sunday, October 31, 2010 starting at 6:00pm.
Once again, this event cannot run without a large number of volunteers, so please sign up today! Please contact Gillian Fenske if you are able to help out or sign up on Sunday morning in the church foyer.
