Navigating the teenage years is challenging.  The teenage brain develops while independence, decision-making and responsibilities change.  This presentation helps parents understand this developmental stage and offers effective parenting strategies to enhance development; manage issues around drug/alcohol use, pregnancy and mental health; and encourage success in education, employment and life.

Come to this free seminar on “The Teenage Brain”, put on by Lutherwood, as part of their Children’s Mental Health Series, this Thursday October 14, 2010, from 7:00 – 8:30 pm at Luther Village on the Park (off of Father David Bauer Drive – enter into building at far entrance closest to the Waterloo Rec Complex – there is a green awning over the correct entrance).

The speaker, Fran Elliot, MSW, RSW is a Lutherwood Clinician with 20 years experience providing inidividual and family therapy to youth and families with a variety of mental health diagnoses.

Next seminar in the series is on “Navigating The System When A Teen Has Suicidal Thoughts or Behaviours”.  For more information on either of these seminars, click here.
