We are sad to announce the passing of Alice Gingrich who had been a faithful family member of Westheights Church for many years.

The KW Record Notice was as follows:  GINGRICH, Alice Marie Alice died peacefully at Heritage House in St. Jacobs on Thursday, December 2, 2010, age 88 years. She was lifted up in the gentle caring arms of Jesus and taken Home. She was the beloved wife of the late Henry Mervin Gingrich (1988). She is survived by daughters Janet Eade, Marilyn Hovinga (Fred) and Laurel Reibling. She will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Melanie Girard (Conrad), Ryan Eade, Andrea Robinson (Anthony), Kaitlin Reibling, Scott Hovinga (Michelle), Kristy Hovinga, Ben Hovinga, and her great-grandchildren Stephanie Girard, Seth Girard, Bryn Fuller, Zachary Fuller and Isabella Hovinga. She is survived by brother-in-law Abner Gingrich and sisters-in-law Esther Armishaw (Douglas), Nancy MacPherson (Ossian) and Beth Gingrich. She will be greatly missed by many nieces and nephews. Alice was the sole survivor of her family and was predeceased by her parents, Livia (Cressman) and Jacob Axt; sisters, Irene Cathcart, Lillian Bowman, Luella Axt; brothers, Andrew Axt and Russell Axt; brothers-in-law, Stanley Bowman, David Cathcart, Bruce Barkey, Howard Koehler, Mahlon Gingrich; and sisters-in-law, Barbara Gingrich, Alice Barkey, Edna Koehler and Joyce Gingrich. Friends may call at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home , 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Monday, December 6 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A celebration of Alice’s life will be held in the funeral home chapel on Tuesday, December 7, 2010 at 2:30 p.m. To honour Mom’s wishes, a private family interment will be held before the celebration.
