During our planning for Christmas services in 2009, we discussed the idea that many people in our church have to travel to be with family and cannot attend the services on Christmas Eve. So we tried an interesting experiment and had a service on the 23rd. It worked and many people came to the service. We received a lot of feedback from people who told us how appreciative they were as they had never been able to attend a Christmas Eve service at Westheights. We also thought we should change the name of the services since they are no longer on just Christmas Eve and we now refer to them as Candlelight services.
Once again Melanie has planned a really beautiful service that blends the traditions of the carols with contemporary elements of music and video. I know that you will be really encouraged if you are able to attend. I will attempt to share a clear and concise message with the prayer and hope that those visiting will come to understand the significance of Jesus birth.
