Nicaragua: Missions Trip Day 1

At yesterday morning’s worship service, we had a commissioning prayer for the Westheights missions team headed to Leon, Nicaragua. They will be away from January 31-February 13, 2011. We will try to keep you up-to-date on the team’s activities, so continue to visit this blog every day for updates.

Let’s continue to pray for the team, consisting of (left to right): Marg Simpson, Doug Winger, David Wigg, Melanie Wigg, Josh Burns, Cathy Burns, Paul Burns, Todd Lester, Amanda Burns, Jenna Winger, Matt Reist and Karl Cober (Kaitlyn Simpson missing from photo).

The team left from Lester Pearson Airport very early this morning, and Todd was able to send us a few photos as they gathered in preparation for their flight.

    Just received a call from Matt Reist’s mom. Matt has been in touch with her and the team has arrived safely in Nicaragua and were about 1/2 hour away from their final destination of Leon.
