A peace-themed art show and fundraiser for ROOF (Reaching Our Outdoor Friends) and the Nonviolence Day in the Park.
My name is Nikki Proctor and I am an event coordinator working with a local organization called the Nonviolence Festival. We host events through the year celebrating peace and nonviolence in the world and in our community. Coming in April is an art show called A Peace of Art. It is a joint fundraiser for R.O.O.F ( Reaching our outdoor friends) and the Nonviolence Day in the Park. ( a fun family friendly day with music and food and a childrens area – July 9th ).
A peace of Art is an art show featuring local artists – the theme of the show is peace in our community and peace within ourselves.
Dates: April 15th -21st 2011 ( the art will be up for the whole week)
Location: Cafe Pyrus Kitchener. ( Across from the bus terminal)
Events:
April 15th -530-730 pm – meet and greet with the artists
April 16th 6pm-9pm – Music and spoken word night featuring local talent.
April 17th – Family friendly games afternoon. 12 noon till 4pm
We are still looking for artists who would like to show and sell their work. If you are an artist or know someone who is and would love the chance to show their work please email me.
