Why do we baptize adults?
- To follow the example set by Jesus Himself. In Mark 1:9: “At that time Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan.”
- Jesus commanded us to do it. Matthew 28:18-19: “Then Jesus came to them and said, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.’”
- It demonstrates that we are believers and want to follow God’s Word. Acts 18:8: “Many of the people who heard Him believed and were baptised.”
Believers’ baptism follows a conscious and personal commitment to follow Christ. What better occasion to celebrate? Come join us!
