A Note from BIC Canada’s Executive Director, Darrell Winger.

betty albrecht challenge smallWe want to thank you for your partnership in the successful launch of this first year of the Betty Albrecht Challenge!

It has been extremely rewarding to see the tremendous response across the church to this initiative that honours Betty and furthers the work of the Kingdom. We know this would not have been possible without your willingness to promote this in your congregation. We greatly appreciate the way in which pastors, congregations, and individuals worked together to see this Challenge greatly surpass the goal of $120,000.

As you shared at our recent BIC Canada Annual General Meeting, we are thrilled to report that just over $160,000 has been raised to date! This exceeds our initial goal by $40,000! We praise God for the generous response by so many across the church. As you know, 75% of the funds go to share the Gospel in Canada by launching new churches and 25% of the funds will go to partnering with the BIC churches in Kenya and Malawi as they pursue God’s mission in their countries.

These additional financial resources will make a difference in the lives of thousands of people across Canada, as well as in Kenya and Malawi. Through new churches being planted and these national churches being strengthened, we will be pursuing our purpose to be a growing faith community following Jesus, sharing his message and extending his peace around the world.

As God enabled us by his Spirit, with the helpful partnership of our pastors, and the generous response of our people, the church has been able to respond to Betty’s challenge – to live lives of sacrifice and generosity so that the name of Jesus is lifted up and his kingdom extended.”

With great appreciation,

Darrell Winger
