It’s Daniel Brenneman here. You may know me because sometimes I play drums on Sunday morning at Westheights Church. This summer I will be participating in a service and learning program with Mennonite Central Committee called Enlace. We will go to Guatemala and work with the indigenous people. The goals of Enlace are to encourage faith formation and cross-cultural learning in ourselves and develop transformative relationships. It sounds incredible! To get there, however, I need some support. Check out the Enlace webpage at http://mcco.ca/yya/enlace for more information.

SpaghettiAs well, I will be having a spaghetti supper fundraiser!

Did you know the distance from Kitchener to Guatemala is equivalent to 13 million pieces of spaghetti. Hold on, that factoid will make sense in a second. On Saturday, June 29, I will be hosting a spaghetti dinner as a fundraiser to raise money for my volunteer trip to Guatemala, through Mennonite Central Committee. Drop by at Westheights Church between 5-7 p.m. and enjoy a delicious spaghetti supper! Imagine, no dishes to wash afterwards plus you get to meet new people, or reconnect with familiar faces!

No tickets are necessary and donations will be gladly accepted that night. So, let’s see if we can eat our way to Guatemala!

Date:  Saturday, June 29

Time:  supper will be served anytime between 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

Place: Westheights Community Church, 82 Westheights Drive, Kitchener, ON
