As we come together as a church around our Greater Things campaign, it is encouraging and inspiring to hear about the many ways that we at Westheights are having an impact and making a difference.  Over the next several weeks, I will be sharing testimonies from members of our Worship Team.  Several of them have shared with me about how being involved in the worship ministry has had a positive impact on their lives.  Today, be encouraged by the following from Amy Terpstra:

Amy Terpstra“The last few years I have had the opportunity to be involved in the worship ministry at Westheights.  This certainly was a step of faith for me and required much courage, especially in the beginning.  Many years ago, someone prayed over me and spoke into my life saying that God was going to use my developing abilities with the piano in ministry to Him, in a team setting.  At that point, I certainly had the desire to do this, but perhaps not the courage or skill level.  God knew my heart and put that desire into words through this person.  In recent years, as I have been a part of the worship ministry at Westheights, God has reminded me of what this person had prayed over me, which has confirmed in my heart that He is at work in my life.  Playing keyboard on the worship team helps me connect with God in a deeper way.  Maybe it is because I have practiced the songs and they are in my heart more, or maybe it is that I am using my hands and feel more like I am participating in doing so.  It is so much more meaningful to me to play as part of a team than on my own.  I continue to learn so much from other members who help me grow in my developing abilities.”
