Fifty enthusiastic Westheights volunteers visited ten neighbourhood homes to provide free gardening this past Saturday, April 26. From transplanting trees, to raking leaves and debris, to scooping up a ton of rotting, smelly apples, our volunteers met a variety of gardening needs with aplomb and grace. Even an impromptu stop in the middle of a busy intersection to scoop up broken glass from two dozen bottles made for an exciting, albeit traffic-stopping, adventure (ask anyone from Team 5 for details).

The cold didn’t faze our enthusiastic teams, but we were all grateful that the rain held off for most of the project.

Thanks to our volunteers for your gift of time, labour, and love to the Forest Heights community.
