Thanks to the many volunteers who signed up to show God’s love to our neighbours at Forest Heights Long Term Care Centre and the Forest Heights neighbourhood!

9:00 A.M. START TIME

As a wake-up and thank-you to our many volunteers, muffin, tea and coffee will be available at 9:00 am in the Westheights foyer. At that time we’ll receive instructions and then head out for our respective projects, wrapping up at noon.

OUTDOOR VOLUNTEERS

  • This event will take place, rain or shine, so please dress accordingly.
  • Bring any of the following gardening tools if you have them: rakes, trowels, garden gloves, hand rakes and hand spades. Ensure that you’ve put your name on your tools.
  • Coffee drinkers, top up your travel mugs at the church before heading out.
  • Contact us ASAP if you have a change of plans. Our teams have been created taking in consideration numbers and abilities of volunteers. Even one absentee will dramatically affect a team’s balance. Contact Tom at tomfenske@westheights.org with any changes.

INDOOR VOLUNTEERS

  • We cannot knowingly bring illness to FHLTCC. If you suspect you are fighting something, please consider switching to the Outdoor project at FHLTCC. Contact Charlene at charleneneuman@westheights.org ASAP.
  • Your smiles and your energy will be a huge blessing to the residents at FHLTCC so don’t be afraid to laugh it up!
  • Coffee drinkers, top up your travel mugs at the church before heading out.
  • Contact us ASAP if you have a change of plans. Our tasks have been created taking in consideration numbers and abilities of volunteers. Even one absentee will dramatically affect a team’s balance. If you can no longer make it to Good Neighbours Day, please contact Charlene at charleneneuman@westheights.org.

Jesus replied, “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbour as yourself.’ The entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments.” Matthew 22:37-40

“Each one of us needs to look after the good of the people around us, asking ourselves, ‘How can I help?’” Romans 15:2 (MSG)
