As most of you are aware, we are in a time of pastoral transition here at Westheights with Pastor Todd Lester’s departure. Our denomination has a well established strategy for guiding us through the process of searching for a new Lead Pastor. This past week our Pastoral Committee met under the direction of the BIC Canada Team Leader Charlie Mashinter to begin that process.
Prayer Support
As we move through this important season we want to keep you informed as a church about how we are progressing so that you can pray along with us. Your prayer support is vital in this process! We can’t say that often enough.
Congregational Survey
As we met to talk through our approach to the search we established the importance of developing two profiles:
- A profile of us as a church here at Westheights so we can describe ourselves and our vision to prospective candidates; and
- A profile of the kind of Pastor we believe would be the best fit for us at Westheights at this time in our history and who can lead us into the future.
We are working to develop those profiles as a search team but today we are asking for your help and input. We are making available a short congregation questionnaire that we are inviting each person who calls Westheights their church home to go online and complete. It will take you about 10 to 15 minutes and it will be a great aid in enabling us to develop these profiles. Click here to complete the questionnaire or you can complete a paper copy and drop it in the box available in the foyer next Sunday. The paper version will be available in the foyer starting next Sunday, Nov 5th.
You will not be asked to give your name but you will be asked to check which general age range you fall into. We need each individual to fill one of these out – please do not fill it out as a couple or as a family. The questionnaire is open now and will remain open until Monday November 20th – but don’t put it off. Go online now and complete it.
