An Update by Gloria Robinson of Welland BIC: By 7:45 am we are in the van and on our way! What a joy to work alongside such a good-natured team. The laughter and antics carry us through the hot day as shovels, pick axes and wheelbarrows whiz by. Today began the relay of excess dirt from the future dormitory area down a 100 yard path to a landfill area.
Lunch at hermana Zenaida’s was delicious as usual. Joining us today was German Garcia, the president of BIC Nicaragua. He asked questions about each one of us, and shared from his heart about the difficult transition of leaving his church as pastor to start his new position as BIC president several years ago.
Our afternoon ended with our children’s ministry at the BIC las Sierritas Church. What a joy these children have added to our day! We have become good friends with our translator Faviola, as well as our bus driver Willfredo.
Our day ends with more comraderie at the local coffee shop over a cup of coffee or a chilled smoothie. Then off to much-needed, peaceful sleep.
