An Update By Christina Main:  Hello Hello! Today we wrapped up our final day here in Nicaragua. The day started rainy and we were a bit worried about finishing up the work at the dormitories. When we arrived to the work site we discovered several local church leaders and members had arrived to help finish the work! It was a beautiful picture to gather together and worship in song and prayer on the freshly dug and fairly levelled ground we have worked on this week. We praised God for what was completed this week and prayed for what is yet to come as the church paves the way for the dormitory phase of construction. We left the site late morning and spent part of the afternoon at the “Laguna de Apoyo” where we enjoyed lunch and swimming along with some well-earned rest time. The team stopped in Masaya on the way home for dinner and a stroll through the local “centro” or town square. The warm breeze was comforting as we anticipate what will be welcoming us tomorrow in Canada! Yikes!

It has been a pleasure to do life this week with the team from the various BIC churches. Though my muscles have worked hard this week, my heart has grown and learned lots. From learning how to use a pick-ax, to pretending to be Zaccheus as a 5″10 gal. As we return to Canada tomorrow and come face to face with our present realities, be it: snow, life routines, jobs, family…

I pray that the experiences we have lived this week continue to stretch and prompt us into deepening our faith and sharing Jesus in the everyday.

Thank you for following along this week! (:

Tomorrow we head out at 3:45am to arrive at the airport, please pray for safe travels as we head north!
