As I step out of my position as Worship Pastor here at Westheights, I want to express my heartfelt appreciation to all of you.

Thank you for the beautiful words of appreciation, the gifts, and the surprises in the service today. It was all so thoughtful and personally meaningful. I feel loved and blessed.

It has truly been a joy and honour to serve in this role. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to serve the church in this way. You gave me the opportunity to grow as a person and a leader, and I will always be deeply grateful for that. Thank you for all the words of encouragement over the years. They have meant more than you know.

We have an amazing worship ministry because of the commitment of many people who share their time and talents so willingly and wholeheartedly. And of course that’s why I know it will continue to be fantastic! To everyone involved in worship ministry, I really love you guys and I love serving the church together. It is deeply meaningful and rewarding, and of course, so much fun.

To the staff… Being a part of this staff team has been one of the great joys of my life. You all have been like a second family to me as we’ve worked hard and dreamed and brainstormed and innovated and shared life. I will always look back on this season together with immense gratitude.

And of course, I want to say a public thank you to my family. You made real sacrifices all through the years (especially during each Christmas season!) so that I could lean into this role. Sacrifices that I likely don’t fully realize. Thank you for supporting me so that I could do something I loved. I love you guys so much.

I love our church. I’m grateful that even though this role is ending for me, we’ll still be here and involved. I look forward to continuing to be on the worship team and supporting our church community however I can. I know there are great things ahead for Westheights in this new season under Josh’s leadership, and I’m grateful that I get to be a part of it.

Thanks again for all the love and support.

Love you all,

Melanie
