Nothing in our lives remains static. As long as we are living and breathing, change happens. Even if we don’t initiate change, it will be forced on us in one way or another. What is it about change that we don’t like? Where is God in the midst of change?

CHANGE

Message by Josh Mutter – March 3, 2019

WHAT’S SO DIFFICULT ABOUT CHANGE?

1. CHANGE FEELS RISKY

2. CHANGE FEELS LIKE YOU ARE LOSING SOMETHING

3. CHANGE TAKES WORK

4. CHANGE CAN MAKE US FEEL POWERLESS

5. CHANGE CAN MAKE US FEEL LOST

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens: a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing, a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away, a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak, a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace.

Ecclesiastes 12:13 Fear God and keep his commandments…

GOD IN CHANGE

1. GOD IS WITH US IN CHANGE

Joshua 1:9 Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.

2. GOD IS ANTICIPATING CHANGE

Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

3. CHANGE INVITES US TO TRUST GOD

Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

4. GOD IS ABOUT CHANGE

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!
