Dear Westheights Family, on Sunday November 24 we will celebrate 41 years of ministry together. This is an opportunity for us to reflect on how God has been at work in our midst in the past year, give thanks and ready ourselves for what God will do next.

We begin by giving thanks. We are thankful for the many ways we have grown as followers of Jesus in the past year, attested to by the three individuals who were baptized this spring. We are thankful for the activities that have brought us together – our various House Churches and social events like the chili cookoff, picnic and corn roast. And we give thanks for the activities that have helped us serve, and build connections with our neighbours – like Halloween for Hunger and our kids visiting Forest Heights Long Term Care Centre.

We also give thanks for our staff team which has experienced some significant changes over the past year. We have said goodbye to Melanie Wigg and Tom Fenske and are grateful for how God used them over the years. We have also welcomed Christina Main and have already been blessed by her. God is good!

As we look to the future, we want to be a community that is anticipating what God is going to do next. Indeed it is my desire that we lean into our mission “To help people find and follow Jesus” and that as a church we are excited to find new ways to do this.

As we celebrate this anniversary, I want to invite you to partner with us in two ways. First, would you commit to praying into what is yet to come for Westheights as we anticipate what God wants to do through us for the sake of the Kingdom. Second, if you are able, our anniversary offering is an opportunity to give a special offering that will be used to pursue our purpose and mission.

We will be celebrating our anniversary on Sunday November 24. I hope that you will join us to celebrate God’s goodness as well as to anticipate what is yet to come.

Yours in Christ,

Josh Mutter, Lead Pastor
