Hey there Westheights! First Thessalonians 5:18 tells us to be thankful in all circumstances. Let’s just admit that in certain seasons, it is easier to be thankful than others. And yet, there is something important about pausing to say thank you. Today I am asking you to pause and thank God for something that you are thankful for (seriously, stop reading this message until you have said “thank you”).
As we wrap up this week, here are four things you might want to know about …
1. Good Friday
Next Friday April 10 at 10:30AM, we will be gathering online for our Good Friday service. Our time together will include a family-friendly reading of the Last Supper and Jesus’ betrayal, a short meditation, and communion. In preparation for communion, we are asking that you have a small glass of red juice and a piece of bread (or cracker) with you so that we can eat and drink together. Please have your elements (aka bread and juice) ready for the beginning of the service.
2. Online Bible Study
After 2 weeks of online Bibles studies, we are going to keep on going. Starting this Sunday April 6, we invite you to participate in a new study with your fellow Westheights friends. This link will take you to the YouVersion Bible App, where we’ll go at the same pace, reading a devotional reading, a verse of scripture, and then discuss what God is teaching us along the way. This 7-day study is anticipating Good Friday & Easter.
3. Looking for Worship Music?
One thing many of us have been missing is our Westheights worship team. While this isn’t an adequate replacement, each Friday during this season we will be creating a playlist for us all to listen to on either Spotify or YouTube. This week, our songs have been recommended by our own Westheights folks and it’s great to be introduced to new songs and to revisit classic hymns. We hope you find these songs encouraging.
4. Have you found our YouTube channel?
In light of COVID-19, we have moved our Sunday times together to our YouTube channel. In addition to Sundays Online, we are also posting a short mid-week video (click here to see this week’s video). Please subscribe and turn notifications on so you don’t miss out!
