Halloween for Hunger may have looked quite a bit different this year, but it was a huge success! Thanks to our wonderful volunteers and neighbours, we raised 1,310 lbs of food and a whopping $750 in funds, for a total of 3,273 meals for The Food Bank of Waterloo Region.

Many volunteers worked hard to make it all happen, delivering flyers to mailboxes leading up to the 31st, receiving, sorting, and packing donations, and running safe and fun games for any Westheights Kids in attendance on Halloween.

The Westheights Kids and their families were invited to join in on some safe Halloween fun behind the building, where games like ‘Musical Eyeballs’ and ‘Cat, Bat or Pumpkin’ were offered in addition to games that taught kids about the Food Bank’s most needed items.

Special thanks to Mimi Lee for taking most of these great pictures of the event!

Your efforts helped feed the hungry in our city. You are living out Matthew 25:35,40 where Jesus teaches:

“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat …Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.”
