Happy New Year Westheights!

Over the past few hours, some of us have made some resolutions about what we want 2021 to be like. We want to try something new, learn something, or maybe work on an aspect of our character. For others of us, we are just happy that 2020 is over. However we may be entering 2021, the start of a New Year is a natural cue to reflect and anticipate. A spiritual practice that you may find helpful is something called the Examen. This is a technique of prayerful reflection on the events of the day in order to detect God’s presence and discern his direction for us. In the context of starting a New Year, here is an Examen Prayer for the Year that will walk you through the process of reflecting on God’s presence in the year that has passed as well as anticipate God at work in our lives in the year ahead.
