Happy Friday Westheights,
This week I want to introduce us to an initiative that we are calling the Community Centre Collection. The Community Centre Collection is an opportunity for us to live out our vision to be a vibrant community of followers of Jesus which serves our neighbours by meeting needs and showing love by meeting some of the tangible needs of those in our neighbourhood.
The Forest Heights Community Centre hosts a weekly food distribution program and they regularly run out of certain items. This got us thinking that one of the ways that we can serve our neighbours is by asking if there were certain items that we could collect for them. They loved this idea and are going to let us know 2-3 items that we can collect for them each month. As you will notice, not all of these items will be food.
How it will work…
- At the beginning of each month, we will let you know what items are needed via our FYI Friday blog/email and Sunday announcements
- You will buy one or two of these items the next time you buy groceries
- You will drop items off at the donation bin located on the ramp to the church office
- We will arrange delivery to the Community Centre
This month they have requested: diapers sizes 2-6, sanitary pads and toothpaste

Tax Receipts
This year tax receipts will be distributed by mail. In the event that we do not have your mailing address, we will get in touch with you to arrange delivery.
Update from the Church Board
Our region recently moved out of the grey-lockdown zone and into the red-control zone. This change brings a lessening of restrictions and may cause some of us to wonder what our plan is for in-person Sunday services. At this point we do not want to rush into meeting and have decided that the earliest that we will meet in-person for Sunday services is June 2021. Click here to read the rest of the update.
Prayer Requests
If you would have something that you would like us to pray for, email your prayer request to prayerrequest@westheights.org. Prayer requests will be forwarded to Westheights folks who have expressed a desire to support us in prayer. If you would like to receive these prayer requests please email office@westheights.org and we will add you to the distribution list.
Virtual Foyer
This Sunday we are once again having a virtual foyer by using Zoom so that we can see and say ‘hi” to one another after the service. To join in right after this Sunday’s service, simply click this link.
