Merry Christmas Westheights!

Believe it or not, the first Sunday of Advent is next weekend. With this in mind we wanted to make sure we let you in on a few things that you won’t want to miss out on this Christmas season.

Advent Devotionals – The BIC has once again produced an excellent Advent Devotional for us. Starting on Monday November 29, these daily readings will invite us to reflect on the significance of the season and prepare our hearts to celebrate the birth of Jesus. You can access a digital or printable version of the Advent Devotional by clicking here. There will be a limited supply of hardcopy versions available in the church foyer starting on November 21.

Advent Devotion Facebook Group – We have set up a Facebook group where we will post the daily Advent reading as well as where we can discuss the reading together. We hope that you will join us!

Advent Prayer Meeting – We believe that intentional times of prayer together are important. Prayer puts us in a posture of connecting our heart with the heart of God and praying together connects us to one another as a church community. As part of our preparation for Christmas, you are invited to a virtual prayer meeting on Saturday December 4th at 10am. This prayer time will be held online via Zoom using this link. Participants will be invited to share prayer requests and Pastor Terry will have some prayer items submitted by others, along with some prayer ideas focused on Advent and Christmas.

Practicing Generosity – At this time of year, many of us are looking to give gifts that make a difference in the lives of those in need. Here are just two opportunities to practice generosity this Christmas.

  • MCC Relief Kits – Did you know that Westheights Kids are learning about MCC Relief Kits during November and December and families are gathering supplies to assemble some of their own?  To find out about how Relief Kits bring hope click here. If you would like to contribute to our collection of items, please contact Pastor Charlene

  • BIC Global Giving Guide –  Are you interested in helping those in need around the world this Christmas? The BIC Global Giving Guide provides opportunities for us to make a significant difference in the lives of our brothers and sisters around the globe.

Christmas Eve Services – This year we are excited to be offering Christmas Eve services both in-person and online on Dec 23 at 7pm and Dec 24 at 4pm & 7pm. Visit christmas.westheights.org for more information about how to register and links for the online services. Please note that registrations open on December 16th.
