What a project, and a privilege. We invite you to join us in this life-and-soap-giving mission!

This Advent season, Westheights Kids families are working hard to collect basic hygiene items – so that, with the help of our community, each family can assemble one or more MCC Relief Kits! Parents and leaders partnered through the month of November, to teach kids about children in countries like Syria, Lebanon, Ukraine and Haiti. They’re children who are like our kids in so many ways, but whose families have been displaced because of war or disaster. We’ve been praying that Westheights’ youngest Jesus-followers would be transformed into lifelong, radical givers who have a heart for meeting the needs of others.

Westheights Students have been stirring things up as well, as they meet and discuss how they can serve Jesus by serving others. As they collect kit items, they’ve been challenged to make personal sacrifices to show the kind of irrepressible love that God grows in us! Thanks, parents, for supporting each of their efforts.

May we “spur you [all] on towards love and good deeds” as well? Westheights, here’s how you can jump in and let loose your inner St. Nick!

1) Bring Relief Kit items to Westheights (not to MCC dropoff) by Sunday, December 19. Here’s a list of the various hygiene items you can donate.
OR
2) Contact Char Neuman at charleneneuman@westheights.org if you’d like to to collect and pack your own kits. We will provide buckets, and when you return the completed kits to Westheights, lids! Click here for Relief Kit Assembly Instructions.
OR
3) Donate funds towards Relief Kit item purchases by Sunday, December 19. We’ll make bulk purchases of items through MCC, and then assemble more kits to return to them!
OR
3) Make a donation towards MCC Relief Kits in someone’s name – in lieu of a gift! It’s the perfect Christmas present for the people-lovers in your life. To request a cheery Christmas card insert that will let your family member or friend know about the donation you made in their honour, fill out this Relief Kit Gifts Form by Sunday, December 19.

To make a donation:
The best option for gift giving is by Interac E-Transfer. Use your bank/credit union online banking system to send an e-transfer to donations@westheights.org. No security question will be required. In the optional message area include “MCC Relief Kit Program.” For first time e-transfer donations, please also include your contact information so we can ensure that you receive a tax receipt.
Cash or cheques clearly marked “MCC Relief Kits Program” can also be dropped off at Westheights Community Church.

And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds…  ~Hebrews 10:24
