A Life of Love

Message by Melanie Wigg – December 5, 2021

A LIFE OF LOVE

1 Corinthians 14:1   Let love be your highest goal!

Mark 12:30-31   And you must love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength.  The second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ No other commandment is greater than these.

1 Corinthians 16:14   And do everything with love.

ACCEPT GOD’S LOVE FOR YOU

1 John 4:7-8   Dear friends, let us continue to love one another, for love comes from God. Anyone who loves is a child of God and knows God. But anyone who does not love does not know God, for God is love.

1 John 4:19   We love each other because he loved us first.

Ephesians 3:18    And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is.

Ephesians 3:19   May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.

FOLLOW GOD’S EXAMPLE

1.Acceptance

2.Attention

Luke 12:6-7   “What is the price of five sparrows—two copper coins? Yet God does not forget a single one of them. And the very hairs on your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows.”

3. Presence

Psalm 145:18   The Lord is close to all who call on him; yes, to all who call on him in truth.

4. Kindness

1 Corinthians 13:4   Love is patient and kind.

5. Help

Hebrews 4:16   So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.

6. Sacrifice

John 15:13   There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.

CELEBRATE THE OUTCOMES

John 15:9-12 – “I have loved you even as the Father has loved me. Remain in my love. When you obey my commandments, you remain in my love, just as I obey my Father’s commandments and remain in his love. I have told you these things so that you will be filled with my joy. Yes, your joy will overflow! This is my commandment: Love each other in the same way I have loved you.”
